INGREDIENTS
1 lb beef sirloin steak (you can also use lamb, pork, chicken, etc.)
2 onions, thinly sliced
1cupshredded cheddar or other cheese like jack or havarti, etc.
salt and pepper
hoagie rolls
4 sheets of heavy duty foil cut into squares
DIRECTIONS
Preparation
Spray each sheet of foil with nonstick cooking spray and placed a quarter of the onion slices on each sheet
Cut meat into strips1/8 inch thick, season with salt and pepper
Add a quarter of the steak strips then a quarter of the cheese to the onions on each foil sheet.
Fold the foil over the mixture forming a triangle, sealing the edges firmly. Leave a little space for the food to expand while cooking.
Method
Preheat grill to Medium
Place on grates and cook 10 minutes with hood closed, use tongs to turn once
Serve on toasted hoagie rolls that are dressed with steak sauce, favorite BBQ sauce, aioli, etc.
