INGREDIENTS

2 pounds green beans, trimmed and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup minced shallots
1/4 cup slivered almonds
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS

Cook green beans in a large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water. Drain well.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shallots and cook until slightly softened, about 2 minutes. Add the almonds and the green beans. Cook until the green beans are heated through, about 6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
