CB American Gourmet Charcoal Grill 600 Series - Model 12301567 is rated out of 5 by 16.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Big-guy from Read warranty before you buy. I used my grill 1 time besides seasoning it and the wire on charcoal grate warped and bent. I cooked a pork roast on it for 9hrs @ 230 degrees. I sent Chargriller an e-mail and attached receipt and pictures of the damage. They e-mailed me back and said warranty only covered damage and missing parts. The wire they use must be cheapest they could get, not to last a few cookouts. My old webber grate still doesn't look that bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Savoy9er from Beyond Words! Up until a couple of months ago I was a gas griller. I tried all types of seasoning recipes to try and enhance the taste of the food that I was grilling, but it would always fall way short of my expectations, the food tasted bland. Then I decided to try charcoal . Once that first steak was cooked on charcoal, I haven't looked back. The Char-Broil unit is now my favorite piece of kitchen equipment. Ribs, Chicken, beef you name it ,taste the way it should with charcoal. There is nothing like going out at least 3-4 times a week and firing up my Char-Broil grill and experiencing the culinary delights that are produced from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by oaken from Adjustable fire level beats Weber I have or have had a "Weber"; a gas grill; a Santa Maria style with lowering grate on axle. I now use this product almost exclusively. Being able to raise or lower fuel ( charcoal bed) adds the most efficient capability. The second rack smokes well. I use a combination of briquettes and red oak chunks or other smoke alternatives. I live on the coast, and have to watch rust, but good seasoning helps. Product quality is ok, given the price. Webers are better quality, but I'll give that up for fuel savings and adjustability. Our weather here is so mild we grill all year long. Assembly could have been better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ted58 from awesome grill Excellent grill, especially for the money. The cast iron grill does best if you season it well and don't clean off all the "stuff." Mine is 4 years old, garage kept, and I'm going to have to replace the charcoal tray this fall. IMO, that's reasonable. I did have to replace the wheels with "non factory" ones. No other problems at all. I installed 2 extra thermometers at grill level for smoking and a better read on what's happening. Also added the smoker, plus a paper towel rack and 3 hooks to the shelves. Assembly was "medium" difficult. Cooks great. Versatile, simple. The smoker works really well, somehow maintains a perfect temp. My only issue is the size. I looked at the next larger one, but not sure it's as good a grill, based on the reviews.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SimonB1964 from Nice sized Charcoal grill Brought this Charcoal grill as my natural gas grill does not do such a good job with Beef Steaks!! Got it on sale and after an hour of putting together it was ready to go. Cooked 8 very large steaks for a birthday party and I was very impressed, as where my guests!!! Makes a nice change from Gas grills. Quality seems good so far, not too bad to clean up after.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DougC from This is a great grill. I have owned a number of grills over the years (50+) and this one ranks #1 in my book. Only a couple of previous grills were close to this grill in quality cooking ability. If you buy one - enjoy!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by jimcat from Rusty grill grates Cooks very well good features (adjustable cooking surface) but after the first use and every use after that the grates totally rust, must be sanded and re oiled. This is the 2nd year and the grates are completly rusted beyond repair. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by BobLewisPhoto from still grilling after at least 3 years I've been using this thing for at least 3 years and it has been problem free. Finally now the charcoal grate has pretty well rested out so I came to this site looking for a replacement, which they have for $30. I'm tempted to get a bigger model but I can't really see throwing this one away so I'm not sure what I'm going to do lol

I also have this grill and I love it. What cover should I use? Can you recommend a different brand if you all don't have one that will fit?
I actually just bought a cover made by Char Broil at Home depot. The mode number is 1565.

What cover fits this grill (600 Series - Model 12301567)? Nothing on website appears to be the right size while accommodating the smokestack.
I bought a cover by char boil at Home depot for $10.00. The item number is 1565. It fits perfect!

I have purchased the CB 600 and I want to mount a firebox it. Is this possible?
I do apologize but we do not recommend modifying your grill. By adding a firebox you will also void your grills warranty.
