Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful charcoal. A real diamond in the rough. This lunp charcoal is great! Burns good and hot. The charcoal is nice uniform lumps which makes it easy to get a good uniform burn and therefore cooking temperature. This is a problem solved (or at least made easier). Thanks charbroil!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lump Charcoal is the best charcoal This is good burning charcoal. I like this coal in particular because it puts out great smokey flavor and burns quite hot when you need serious heat.

How is this type of charcoal made?

Asked by: Cfield
Centercut Lump Charcoal is organic, center-cut hard woods only. Charcoal is mostly pure carbon, called char, made by cooking wood in a low oxygen environment. It is a process that can take days and burns off volatile compounds such as water, methane, hydrogen, and tar.
