Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not real impressed I bought this product in the last year and in the past two weeks I have had two of the knobs fall of the valve stem. These are the knobs on the front of the grill that control each burner. The battery operated striker is not to good either at least every other time I have to use a bic grill light because it won't strike. Batteries are changed each time. I can honestly say I was excited when I purchased your grill. It was the first long term investment I have ever made. It appears I was premature. Feel free to replace the bad pieces but I doubt I will change my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Grill Love the grill, the only thing I'm not to happy about is the groove cleaning tool. The tool provided for cleaning the grooves doesn't work very well and is not very comfortable to use and a normal grill cleaning tool brush isn't much help either because it doesn't get down into the grooves very well. Char-Broil needs to come up with a better tool and then the grill would be great. Also as a note, if you need a grill that doesn't get very hot (like for smoking) this isn't the grill as it runs at about 4 to 5 hundred degrees on it's lowest setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great barbeque! I've had my Charbroil 3-Burner for 15 months and have had an outstanding experience. It's very reliable, cleans up easily and the ability to put wood chips directly on the cooking grates provides the best flavors I have experienced in many many years of outdoor propane bbqing. No problems.......great results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Grill *** !!! Excellent heavy duty stainless steal. TRY Infrared technology really works; almost eliminates flare-ups. Cooks over 800 degrees for restaurant quality steaks, and as low as 200 degrees for indirect cooking for ribs. Doesn't seem to use as much fuel as other grills I've had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grilling results I bought this grill last year and have had a year of excellent grilling results. It took time to figure out how to clean the grates efficiently: Before heating, I use a big grill brush, then stainless steel pads followed by wiping off with a oiled paper towel, A little more work than my bride wants to do, but I don't mind knowing the grilling results, Temperature gauges are useless but don't really need them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spend more time cleaning than cooking I bought this grill because I was sick of the flare ups that happen when you grill.Everything was all good until you have to clean the grill.Cleaning the grill is very tedious and it needs to be cleaned once a month at the least.I guess that's what you get from a grill that doesn't flame up,you have to give up something somewhere!! Other than that ,it's a great grill!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not overly impressed. Having second thoughts about my purchase of this TRU infrared grill. Based my purchase of new Char-Broil grill on my original 4-burner commercial grill which lasted 10 years and does still work, however, needed a new grill on my new deck as the bump-out for the grill was not wide enough for the old grill. Another reason for choosing CB again was the warranty on that first grill, the grates and all burners were replaced for no charge. All the grates were well used, and the burners all had holes in them and at $50 a burner, I would not have replaced these. Purchased the model directly from Char-broil, I have seen the similar Lowe's model come with a cooking grate in addition to the infrared. My model you cook directly on the infrared. This rusts up pretty quickly and the infrared is just too hot to not oversear food and have it stick while cooking. Also the material for this new grill is pretty low compared with what was made 10 years ago.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from At first I liked the tru infra red grill, I did a rotisserie chicken and it was great, but when I did some steaks it did not turn out as good as a regular grill. I could not get the grill surface hot enough to get a good char on them, with 3 burners the propane struggled to give a good flame, I wish I got a regular grill like I had before

By does this model have no grill grates over the emitter? Can I add the porcelain one and still expect the same grill/cooking quality? Without the grates, do I have to season it EVERY time I use it so my food wont stick to stainless?

    Asked by: lisa s
The Performance series uses a one piece stainless grate with a built in emitter to create the Infrared heat. No additional grates are required. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust.

The ignitor on my grill doesnt work anymore. I changed out the battery to it and still no change. what can i do to fix it?

    Asked by: lexgold
There may be moisture inside the module. I would recommend saturating a q-tip with WD40 and swabbing out the battery compartment. This should take care of any residule moisture that may be inside. Just reinstall your battery after the compartmet is dry. With the grill and tank in the off position you can test the ignitor and see if functionality has returned.
