Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up to Temp! This is my second Char-Broil product. I had a Big Red, but it was tired and needed a replacement. This grill fired up to 650 degrees in 20 minutes, perfect for searing steaks or ahi tuna. I live in the Sierras and winters are harsh. If it gives me good service for 6 or 7 years I'll be a happy guy. I noticed the elegant simplicity of engineering, which will make future repairs routine. I lost one nut during assembly ( I put it together on my deck), but assembly was an easy adventure. One picture is worth a thousand words. Need heat: buy this grill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Grill I've Ever Owned!!! I've been cooking on this grill for almost a year now. It's amazing. Nothing like the traditional gas grills out there. It did take a few tries to get adjusted to the infrared feature. Once I got a handle on temp regulation, etc. I was off and running. Wow.! There is nothing like it. Yup, if you want to fire up a grill, cook a load of food and walk away until the next time you're hungry, this might not be the best grill for you. But if you take a few minutes to crank up the heat, it will burn off the accumulated grease. A few scrapes of the grill plates and grates, and this baby will welcome you with open arms the next time you head out to grill. I always spray some cooking spray over the grates after each use and cleaning. Really, 10 - 15 minutes to heat up, sip a beer in the meantime, a few brush strokes, quick scrape of the grates, and you're done. The only time I experienced any rusting was when I got lazy. I ate a wonderful meal, drank a beer or two or three and said "I'll clean it tomorrow". Tomorrow never came. LOL! If you were to cook a full course meal in your house, it would take way more than 10-15 minutes to clean up. Seriously. It's not an issue especially with the high quality food you present to your guests! A definite keeper. I live in Massachusetts and used it during our cold winter days. No problem getting the heat up or keeping it warm. Great for smoking too!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rust after 6 months I bought this grill last summer and in few months the grates got badly rusted. I owned other brands before, not "commercial" grade but this never happened

What is the difference between the 4 burner Commercial seris and the 4 burner Professional series? I notice one is more expensive.

Asked by: Patty Smellenburger
Both of these grills utilize the same BTUs (32,000 BTUs) and have porcelain-coated cast iron cooking grates with stainless steel emitters. The main difference between the grills is the slant of the lid and also where each grill is sold. The Commercial Series Grills are exclusive to Lowe's and the Professional Series Grills can be purchased through us.

I want to buy a 4 burner grill with thru infrared system, which one is the most heavy duty the commercial or professional series? if I buy it, I want it to be Natural gas, can I special order it? Also have you solve the rusting of the grid panels?

The Commercial Series Grills are exclusive to Lowe's and the Professional Series Grills can be purchased through us. The Commercial Series model # 463242716 will use natural gas conversion kit model # 4984619. The Professional Series model # 463276016 will use natural gas conversion kit model # 4584609. We recommend cleaning the grill with a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

Does this grill or any of your other grills come in a version detached from the cart I can build it into my kitchen counter in the backyard? I can't find any such grills or information regarding this one your site. Thanks, Brian.

Asked by: brlewis23
At this time we do not currently have any grills that are able to be built in units. We recommend having at least a 3 foot clearance around all sides of the grill when in use.
