Rated 4 out of 5 by Public70 from Char-Broil Electric Grill This is my second one and I love the grill. However on both Grills the controller shorted out after one year of use. The replacement part (29101991) is $50 while an entire new Grill is $135. The part cost is too expensive at $50. I don't think I will be buying a third Grill.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Barney52 from Works but has limited life Works fine, and I installed it with new coil to be safe. Useful life of 20-26 months if you keep it out of the elements

Rated 1 out of 5 by Village Boy from Controller unit problems I used this grill about 4 times before the controller stopped working. I bought it new about three years ago and have not used it after the first summer due to the cost of replacing the control unit. Controller unit was stored in house between uses.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gene88 from Unreliable controller We have had this grill for just a little over 2 years. The first controller stopped controlling and only operated at max heat in less than 1 month. We received a replacement which worked for about 2 weeks then only worked at max heat. So that is how we used it until it stopped working completely after about a year. So we went back to the first one and operated it at max heat until it failed about a week ago. The grill has always been covered or inside when not in use. I am not about to spend $50 for another one.

I have a Patio Bistro Model 12601578. It appears the controller is shorting-out. I tried to remove it; but it doesn't want to budge. Is it just stuck? Do I just pull it out from it's socket? Is part number 29101991 the correct replacement? Thanks,
We're sorry to hear this. The controller should just pull out of the of the Patio Bistro. Model # 29101991 is the correct controller. Give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 and we will be able to best investigate.

Hi, I bought one but in my country we have 220 not 110, do you have a controler for this kind of electricity?
Please contact your local distributor for Char-Broil parts in your area.

I need more than 5 feet to reach my closest power outlet, can I use an extension cord? If so, what type?
An extension cord can be used. We recommend a 12 or 14 gauge extension cord of 50 ft or less.
