Rated 3 out of 5 by Sassy Sue from Nice little grill Look's good, grills good, but replacement parts are over priced. Ditto the review above me!

Rated 3 out of 5 by TampaPhil from Cooks great but food buildup is insane. This little grill cooked really well for a year with a decent amount of use - 2 or 3 times a week. Yes, I seasoned my grill with canola oil and yes, I let the grill burn for 12 minutes on high after each and every use and also before each and every use until the cooking surface was as hot as it can get. The problem is there is no place for the scrapings to go. This grill is a major pain to keep clean. Now anything I cook ends up with black specs of burnt nastiness all over it and the grill plate is way too expensive to replace. I even pressure washed my grill plate at one point and it didn't help. All the holes in the grate are clogged and there's just no way to clean this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ColleenM from cooking grate I absolutely hate the cooking grate -- everything sticks to it, the build-up requires extensive scrubbing and scraping with every use. The size and style of the grill are perfect -- i've had my grill for 4 years now and it has help up beautifully, but the cooking grate is HORRIBLE! Can i order another non-infrared grate that I can use-- a plain old, regular grill grate that willl fit this unit?? Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by Danny1 from Great customer service via web site! Have had Patio Bistro gas grill for 5 years and now need a new grate. Despite our constant cleaning of the grate the grease and particle build-up id now too corroded to use. At $53 we find the replacement part too costly especially since the inside cover paint of the unit is peeling. It once cooked quite nicely and was amazingly fast using less gas than our previous experiences with gas grills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Elizabeth53 from Best infrared grill I've used my Charbroil Bistro Grill for 6 years and it is the best gas grill I've ever owned. I had to replace the grate and it is expensive but I hope to get 6 more years of use out of it so it's worth the money spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by asg85 from AWESOME GRILL! I have had my patio bistro grill for 3 years now and would never go back to a regular gas grill now that I've used the tru-infrared. I cook on the grill at least 3x/week year-round and as a single, young female would much rather do a little extra work cleaning the grill than burning the house down due to flair-ups that you get with traditional gas grills. Food always comes out cooked evenly and one tank of propane lasts a long time with this grill, even at the frequency I am using it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cydpsyche from terrible grate & broken starter I bought this grill last summer and it is a disappointment. The grate is very difficult to clean and food usually sticks to it despite using Pam on the food or pre-treating the grate. It usually takes me multiple attempts to get the grate to fit back on and it is frustrating. I would like to buy a lighter stainless steel grate, but cannot find one in the correct size. The electronic starter does not work anymore. Even when I set the temperature to low it runs hot. I would not recommend this grill.

After 10 years of the Patio Caddy, we gave it to my daughter who still uses it. The grill (porcelain) still works beautifully. We have had the Patio Bistro for a year and the ss grate is a persistent drag to clean. Why not make a porcelain replacement?
I understand it's stainless steel. it would be wonderful if you made an alternate replacement that was of the same quality as the Patio Caddy porcelain. We are considering purchasing a Weber instead of buying the first of many replacement parts. Sorry.... your site says much the same about the grill. it's not owner friendly.

Can you clean the grill part in the dishwasher?
Yes. To best clean this grate we recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

My question is exactly as the one above from MandyC. It's too expensive and not as easily cleaned as you portend. Do you also sell a special grill brush designed for the grate or a chemical cleaner that could be used outdoors and hosed off?
To best clean your cooking grates we recommend the infrared tool made for your grill, as well as our nylon brush. Another suggestion would be to use warm soapy water or our stainless steel cleaner.

Why is the grate almost 1/5 the price of the whole unit?
When a grill is purchased, essentially, it is a box of replacement parts at a discounted price. These parts are made of real materials, such as stainless steel like this cooking grate. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 if you have any further questions and we'll be glad to help you out!
