Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my Grill I bought my grill 6 years ago. This grill has all the original parts. The grates are worn and the trays are starting to fall apart. I seasoned the grates regularly and take the grill apart and clean it several times a year. Like anything else if you take care of it, it will last longer. I live in the Midwest and we grill when weather permits in the winter and almost everyday in the summer. Great grill for the money. The grates and trays need to be replaced, and I agree those parts are too expensive. I will consider a new one at the end of summer when they are on sale

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grates Rust Easily and are Difficult to Clean We like our grill as far as how it cooks. However, the grates are extremely difficult to clean and are beginning to rust no matter what we do. We keep the grill covered when not in use. We keep it out of the weather. We followed the directions to season with canola oil. We are really needing new grates but at $62.99 each, it would be less expensive to simply purchase a new grill. Also, the ignition button broke in half soon after we purchased the grill. As a whole, we are disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Last Char-Broil product I will ever buy I bought this 1.5 years ago and expected it to last a long time. However, all three of my grates have rusted to the point that I can't put food directly on them. No, I did not season them with Canola oil before my first use. Yes, I religiously used the cleaning tool to clean it until the grates became so clogged, I put them in the dishwasher to clean. That's when the rust started and it was down hill from there. I then began searching for replacement grates and found the only available were thru Char-Broil for $62.99 apiece. To replace all three is more than I paid for my grill, brand new, on sale. I will never buy another Char-Broil product again unless they substantially lower the replacement cost of these grates. The price is absolutely rediculous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very expensive and extremely poor quality! My first Charbroil was smaller and infrared and worked very well, so when I needed a bigger one I got this. BIG mistake! Different grates. Grates rusted in less than a year and impossible to clean even following your instructions. No more Charbroil here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thin porcelain coating on grates. I just got this grill (model:463436515) and after one use,the grates porcelain coating started chipping away. I used the included tool to clean the grates just like the book instructed. This tool is not meant for this grill, don't use it unless you want to ruin your grates and pay $189 for a new set. I am VERY disappointed in this grill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! I think it is a horrible idea. The grill plates do not drain and hold the juices and then burn and stick to the meat. I looked for replacement grill tops and there are none and the representative told me that charbroil does not recommend replacing the plates. never purchasing a charbroil product again.

we purchased this grill on 5/8/2015. We have used it 3 times, and the coating on the grills is coming off. We purchased the 463435115 Grill. Do you make a steel grates for this model. We are afraid of the coating getting onto our food.Thank you 5/31/15

I've previously owned the 4 burner model and it is designed with a grate over this one. Why doesn't the 3 burner model? I've used this one once and it doesn't cook nearly as well I'm very unhappy.

To best answer this we need the model number for your grill. This model number should be on the rating label, on the back towards the bottom of the grill, and also on the front cover of the product guide. The model number normally begins with 46. Follow this link for more information...

What is the material underneath the porcelain grates? Cast iron or steel?

    Asked by: mynicknameisonesyllable
This grate does not have an infrared emitter underneath it. However, the emitters for the cast iron grates are stainless steel.

Why on earth are these so expensive?! They aren't even that great! They're a huge pain to clean. I'm better off buying a new grill instead of replacement grates, and at this rate, it won't be another Charbroil!!

How do you clean these cooking grates? Is there a better alternative grate?

    Asked by: Kellymasha
To best clean we recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
