Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing lifespan I have had this grill for 2 years and always kept it covered to protect it. The infrared emitter trays rusted and began to fall apart after two years and will cost almost $100 to replace all 4 trays.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misleading information I have had this grill for about 3 years and the grates are rusted. I looked up the information to buy new ones and I thought the picture shows a complete grate and housing bu it doesn't. the two parts are sold separately for a total of over $45 each time four that's almost $200 with shipping. They need to sell the complete replacement unit at a reasonable price or at least show two pictures so it's not confusing. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUST CITY I have only had this grill for 3 years and all 4 cooking grates and pans rusted thru. I like the infrared system, but, no way I'm gonna pay $100 to replace them...that is crazy. Back to a Weber I guess, I did not have to replace anything but the igniter switch on that and they replaced it free. Lasted 15years!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wow did this rust fast I will now buy a Weber - I do not like the IR grate

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rusted Cooking Grates Seems to me the coking grates should last longer than a couple of years and then cost $100 to replace all of them. I clean them, spray them with oil and they still rusted away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs different cooking grate For the most part I have been very happy, except when it comes to the grates. I seasoned them from day one. About every 2-3 I'd do a deep clean. Remove the grates and separate each one, clean all the holes in the lower portion, then when I'd put it back together I'd make sure that the grates are with different bottoms and put in different spots. Keep it covered all the time along with it sitting under my patio cover. In short I'd probably go with a different cooking surface but staying with Char-Broil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate this grill Grill rusted through (stainless steel?) even though I kept the unit clean and covered. Would love to find non IR replacement grills as the original replacements cost over $100 for all four.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cooking grate replacement for IR I have loved the grill but been really aggravated that these parts and the heat diffuses underneath were rusting out too fast. I called in expecting to be frustrated, but learned they have a refresher kit with everything I needed for less than half the cost of what I expected based on the prices for the individual pieces, and the kit includes a pile more parts that I'll likely discover I need to replace when I get under the surface. Plus the phone person was absolutely the best, most competent person I've come across from any company in a very long time - and I am very sensitive to customer service quality. She is shipping me the stuff at a reasonable cost and I'll likely have it before the weekend. This is like the 4th review I've ever written in my life - I don't spend the time. But when I have an experience this great, I have to say so. Just call the number folks!!

I just ordered and received part number 3485532 thinking it included this past as well. The original parts are rusted and falling apart.  Looks like I have to order 4 of these as well. Are these going to rust too? Were the originals stainless steel?

    Asked by: Rocketdogdiddy
These parts are sold individually. The grates and housing trays are stainless steel. We recommend seasoning and routine cleaning to help prolong the lifetime of the parts. Give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

how long should the bottom screen last on the grilling grates

    Asked by: lendor9
The emitter should last for quite some time. Seasoning the emitter with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.

Are these the infrared emitter trays? Will they work on model 463645015? We only need a two-burner grill, but none available here with two burners have the infrared emitter trays.

    Asked by: hungry girl
This infrared emitter will not work with this grill. Each cooking grate for this grill is model # G359-0002-W1. If you are looking for a new 2-burner TRU-Infrared Grill take a look at the Gourmet 2-Burner Grill. This is model # 463251414 and it is available on the Char-Broil site. This grill can be shipped directly to you.
