Emitter For Cooking Grate is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Emitter Review The emitter is an important part of the Tru Infrared grill. Unfortunately, it's pretty thin metal that rusts and crumbles within 2-3 years of owning the grill. Between heat and rust degradation, they begin to disintegrate to the point of replacement. They should be made of sterner stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Emitters make our grills like new We purchased 5 emitters (which install under the grates) for our two grills and they make our two year old grills like new again! The old ones were workable, but we use them a lot and they were getting holes in them - from rough cleaning. We are please with this purchase.

do the emitter grates have to remain in place or do i have the option to remove them and cook steak over a more direct flame.

    Asked by: jamiekay
If your grill is designed to use infrared emitters, they should always be in place when the grill is being used.
