Firebox is rated out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by rusty1 from rust rust rust I like the look and functionality of this grill but I'm very disappointed that the bottom of the fire box completely fell off and down onto my propane after only 3 years. Unacceptable. A new one is 89.99 but I'll just buy another but it will not be a charbroil.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ChiefE from Annual Purchase - Is that ordinary? My grills are covered daily. I have two grills at my location and have purchased 4 fireboxes in the last 26 months. With the most recent purchase being April. The box is easy enough to install, if the rest of the grill is still intact. Obviously I do like the functionality of these grills, otherwise I wouldn't try and rehabilitate them. The only concern is the longevity of the metal that is used to divert the grease and particles to the tray below the black box but connected to the black firebox. That is the only reason that I have to replace it every year. It rusts quickly and doesn't hold up to the elements at all. Once it deteriorates, it presses down on the tray rails and breaks them. So I have to keep a good eye on those which I replaced this year as well. If I could find a coating that could withstand heat and assist with the rust prevention, it would help the grill last for a longer cycle. I wouldn't buy a replacement grill until I am certain that the same issue doesn't present itself as well. Not sure if I am going back with the Char-Broil version. We will see what is out there when I go to buy in the future. Too bad that metal flashing below the black portion of the firebox is so weak....

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frowning from What happened to Charbroil quality? The firebox just rusted out and fell on top of my gas tank. Completely rusted out in 4 years. On our covered deck. Our last 3 Charbroils worked great and the quality was top notch. From the other reviews, I'm asking "What happened to Charbroil?"

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisgustedInMighigan from Rusted out Firebox Paying almost $500.00 for a grill that needs new grates after only 2 years at $100.00 for the pair...then a month after purchasing them the bottom of the Firebox drops out - unreal. Very poor quality! If you are going to advertise the grill as stainless steel, use stainless steel throughout so it last longer. This was my first, and will be my last Charbroil product.

Is this the replacement for the 463257010 model? My heat shield has rotted as well. Opened up the grill this morning and it was a crumbled mess. Has anyone ever tried to fabricate this part rather than buy the entire box? Seems like such a hassle.

Does the firebox have a heat shield underneath it? I have a tray right above the grease tray that has rotted away. That is what I need.
My heat shield has rotted away twice in the last couple of years. The first one was replaced under warranty, the second one has no warranty. Question: Is there any way to replace only the heat shield and not the whole fire box? Thanks! Martin
