Our Char-Broil and Thermos gas grills have been designed and tested to be used with Flame Tamers, Vaporisers, or heat distribution plates to provide more even heating, improve the cleaning process and reduce flare-ups instead.

what exactly are lava rocks used for? Do they add any flavor to the food? what could I use on a gas grill to stop grease Fire flare ups?

    Asked by: nips
Our Char-Broil and Thermos gas grills have been designed and tested to be used with Flame Tamers, Vaporisers, or heat distribution plates to provide more even heating, improve the cleaning process and reduce flare-ups. The addition of after market lava rocks, charcoal or briquets of any type will cause poor combustion and increase the liklihood of a grease fire and is not recommended. Using briquets, lava rock or charcoal in our grills, will void your warranty.

Do I need a special grate for these for my charbroil 6 burner grill? How would I go about setting them up on the grill without damaging anything

    Asked by: Cfyre
Our gas grills will not use lava rocks. The addition of after market lava rocks, charcoal or briquettes of any type will cause poor combustion and increase the likelihood of a grease fire and is not recommended.
