Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Smoker Have used one of these smokers for many years and it has been a very good investment, smokes meat without drying it out, makes the best boston butts and briskets, this unit works as good as my large brick smoker. I smoke meat for many outings at work and church.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good first smoker This was a gift to me for my birthday and it's a great little smoker. In my opinion, the smoker has done what I've needed. I have done ribs, pork butt, brisket and chicken. All have turned out great. I would suggest that anyone purchasing this smoker, also purchase a digital probe-style thermometer. It's a little sensitive, and does require your supervision periodically. Make sure the water tray and your wood chips are checked anytime a temp spike occurs. Some have mentioned grease drippings onto the wood chips; I suggest a using a pan to catch the grease or to put your meat in while smoking (it will turn out just fine).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really pleased at all Where do I start. The door doesn't seal at all. I tried it a number of different ways starting with water and wood chips in the bottom as the directions suggest. Water ran dry twice in less than 2 hrs. Then I tried wood chips only in bottom with a tin pan with water above. Can't get it up to 225 and I have 2 digital thermometer probes, one on lower rack and one on upper. With gas almost on high it is running 190 on bottom and 168 on top. Not to mention the door thermometer reads totally different thatn my digital probe. Should have went with a better built on. Unfortunately I am a victim of instant gratification and an unhappy one at that. Will defiantly be calling the company about this.

What should max temp be on 15202033 model. I turned it on for the first time, Full flame for 30 minutes, and it barely got above 250 degrees.

How do you keep the heat down? On the lowest setting, the unit runs about 300 (per the temp gauge). We do have the top vent open. Is it the thermometer? Or what else do u suggest?

Can I change from Propane, to Natural Gas?

No. This Large Propane Gas Smoker can only be used with a twenty pound propane tank. It cannot be converted to natural gas.

You should easily get multiple uses out of a twenty pound propane tank. A twenty pound propane tank will provide around 15 hours of cooking with this smoker.
