Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like it should This is the second e-mail I received to write a review for this. It's a rock grate. It holds the lava rock like it should. Not much else to say.

Can I use lava rocks in this grill model #463344015, and do I need to buy a grate for this to support the lava rocks?

Asked by: Bill Russ
No. This grill is not able to use lava rocks. Instead, we recommend using wood chips. Wood chips are easy to use and add tons of flavors.

I'd like to use this in a 463731704 instead of putting in yet another vaporizer bar.  Will this work?

Is that dark area in the middle a flame shield and/or vaporizer?

Asked by: airhonda
This area in the center of the grate is a drip plate. This drip plate helps to protect the burner and reduces flare-ups.

can inferred grates be used on model#463268003

Asked by: tomas
Please take another look at the model number for your grill. Is it model # 463268008? If the grill was not designed to support infrared parts it cannot be used as an infrared model.
