Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Prodcut, Excellent Customer Service I had my Charbroil Tru Infrared grill for just over a year and have to say that it is the best grill I have ever owned. I am quite please with the look, and more importantly I am extremely pleased with Charbroils customer service team who went out of their way to help me get a few parts that were damaged in a storm. They didn't have to help me, but they did and that showed me that they really value their customers. I am very appreciative...replacing the parts that they provided me would have been very costly and quite frankly, not worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short life span We purchased this girl at sears 4 years ago with in the first six months the valves for the burners froze up. Then the next spring the burners themselves rotted out then the all of the bottom heat shields rotted off now the tub and greats are falling apart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this grill is not made to last!!! had grill covered for 2 years till cover fell apart - now the back and bottom has rusted out and falling apart after only 1 year without a cover! -NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THAT - iv had cheaper grills that did not rust this bad in over 10 years! paid $400 thinking that this will last - temp gauges stoped working in less than half a year - can only cook on the lowest temp setting - gets too hot! - when the temp gauges worked they were pegged out at anything over the lowest setting - and now the cooking grates are rusting out!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excited when I bought it, then PROBLEMS & Rust.... I bought this grill when I moved into my new home in June 2014 as a gift to myself! Great Looking Grill. Worked great the first two months, but then 2 of the 4 temp gauges quit working. Within 8 months, the bottom portion of the grill/door/side had rusted extensively. Grill stills works after 2 years, but has worn out faster than any other grill I've ever had. My wife even noticed. I kept it under our porch where rain can't get to it (below the outdoor mounted TV), and the rust is incredibly significant. All of the main burners and flame tamers have rusted out and are falling apart. The cooking grates and trays have held up, but the ignition module quit working within a year. Now only 1 of 4 temp garages work. Sears my steaks great, but I cant read the temp and I have to manually start it each time I want to use it. (who wants to manually start a grill when you paid $500)...and it falling apart within 2 years is CRAZY. I've had my $99 W**** charcoal grill for 8 years....no rust. I'm looking at buying parts to rebuild parts of this Char-Broil Grill that's rust out, but it adds up to cost as much as a new grill. I wish they'd take ownership of these problems and help me with these issues. Maybe I just got a bad one out of the lot, and it happens with all companies. But having so many different problems with this grill makes me wonder????

Could the cooking grate be washed in a dishwasher?

Asked by: Dianeg213
No. To best clean these grates we recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the grates with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
