Regulator is rated 1.5556 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor part. I've had this for over a year. The regulator has had issues since day 1, and today it fell apart. Expensive to say the least for a spring and plastic cover with a plastic slide to increase the open aperture. It wears out to say the least.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is a weak link The grille works wonderful, very happy with the heat and cooking surface and it uses very little propane. The knob on this regulator broke the first weekend we used the grill. Char-Broil sent out a replacement piece immediately. Hopefully this one will last longer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great grill, terrible regulator This regulator is not good, I've gone through two of them already. Didn't drop it or anything, the thing just seems to wear out quickly. The problem is, the grill it goes to is a fantastic grill. I've had the grill for over a year and I have had to buy 2 new regulators already. That means I have had to invest 80$ extra in this grill after buying it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great grill...but one serious flaw I bought this grill last summer...first time I saw it. After using it just two times, (made great steaks--told all my friends how great it was) I dropped the regulator onto my wooden deck (just two or three foot fall) and the knob broke off the regulator...a plastic part. I called Char Broil and explained the situation and they were nice enough to send me a replacement under warranty, which I used until the middle of winter. Again, loved the grill; -- quick, easy on gas, and nice grill marks, etc. Then I tried to grill a steak in February with below zero temperatures (but out of the wind) and I could not get it to get hot enough. I Thought it could have been the hose from the large cylinder (which I've read can get clogged with insects, or had formed an ice blockage in the hose.) so I tried a small portable cylinder, but that, too, would not give me a flame big enough to sear the steak. The only thing I can surmise is that the regulator is became defective due to the cold--but I have a portable grill that I've used in the same below zero conditions for years, using both the little and large one cylinders with no problems. With warmer (near 60's) conditions I am still unable to get the grill hot enough. While I think the regulator should last a lot longer, I would be willing to buy another, but would it work? Is the problem the regulator? Could I use the brass extension tube from this regulator on a regulator from one of my other portable grills?. They certainly look the same otherwise. If I could get this problem resolved I would again recommend this as the best portable grill out there. I would appreciate any ideas..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grill2Go Regulator poor quality The grill as a whole is outstanding but one simple and very important part, the regulator, is made with poor quality. I have had the grill for a couple of months and the regulator knob completely fell apart and the flimsy spring inside has failed. I would like to see a re-design of this part or some other type of solution so that I can continue to use my grill. Is there a 3rd party that offers a higher quality product or any other type of fix? And to replace the part for $39.99 is ridiculous since it will probably fail again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap design, broke on first use The grill is fine, although the regulator control knob broke upon the first use. The plastic knob popped off and the spring fell out. I was able to put it back together but it has come apart again. Luckily I was able to order a replacement from Char Broil under warranty, waiting for it to come in the mail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad quality The Charbroil Grill is OK, but at least this part, the regulator, has a very weak metal spring on the handle that broke at the first use. I think is too expensive, pay $39.99 for a new regulator.

I went through the questions and it seems that there is a problem with the regulators for the grill to go. I enjoy my grill. It goes camping and works well for 4 people. I will have to decide if I want to keep buying a regulator every yr or replace grill.
