Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love my grill, greatly disappointed in the trough We bought this grill earlier this year, not even 6 months ago. Love the grill, food tastes great coming off of it. It really does a good job. Love smoking food with it. The trough, has not held up at all and I already should buy a new one. There is no support in the middle and it has already began to bow in the middle and sag. Rust is also starting to show. I keep my grill covered and clean it before/after every use. These seems like it should have been addressed by now and is a great disappointment. It is sad that I already need to buy another trough just to get an even cooking surface. The grates do not sit evenly now that the trough is sagging.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great even cooking but poor design for long-term I love my Tru-infrared grill, it cooks more even than any grill I have ever owned as well as heats to temp quicker than any other i have owned. The problem is that the trough that takes on the direct heat simply can't stand up to regular usage longer than 1.5-2 years. I always properly clean my grill after each use and a significant cleaning typically every other month. The problem is I live in New England and even with a grill cover, the expanding and contracting temperatures and moisture are not conducive to the trough lasting. Again I love the grill but have to figure out whether its worth it to continue buying new troughs every other year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am like the rest of you and I am very disappointed with the longevity of these "pans". It is time to replace mine again plus my electronic lighter is not working so it is extremely dangerous trying to light my grill. I love way my grill cooks but I shouldn't have to replace these parts every other year. I had a Weber grill prior to purchasing this one and if finally gave out after 10 years. I never had to replace anything on it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bad design The trough has no support in the middle. Once the grates (3) are placed on the trough it dips on the middle and after applying heat it bends. This could be an easy fix by adding middle supports. Also the painted on display for the gas controls wears off quickly. We kept ours covered and out of the sun and they wore off after about six months. Cooks great, just those big complaints, which could be easily fixed by the manufacturer.

Trough is rusted out after only a year. Also, the supports that the trough rests on along the sides are falling off. What are these side supports called? I have the Gourmet Tru Infrared 3 burner from Home Depot

The model we have is #4632250511 and has a push button spark u v in the parts diagram page 12 .However that not the part on the unit! The unit has the battery on the right side with 4 terminals We have replaced the battery> no spark!

Try spraying the inside of the battery case with WD-40. It dries it out, and helps to remove rust. It did the trick for me.

How do you care for this trough to keep it from rusting? I've had this a year and a half and the tabs are already rusting off.

    Asked by: rmcmahan0348
To best clean and protect the trough we recommend a nylon brush and warm soapy water or biodegradable grill cleaner. Seasoning the trough with canola oil will also help to keep food from sticking and prevent rust. Please give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 for more information.
