It’s hard to resist the earthy, comforting flavor of mushrooms. Maybe we love them so much because they're the perfect size for party food, or maybe they remind us of holiday parties of years past. Regardless, any occasion is a great time for stuffed mushrooms. Try making them at your next picnic with our Tabletop Gas Griddle.

Ingredients

FOR THE MUSHROOMS

  • 12 medium fresh Crimini or white mushrooms
  • 12 pieces of bacon, center-cut, sliced thin
  • 12 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • > olive oil
  • > salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 jalapeños, sliced
  • > hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1 Of 9
1
Preheat grill to 375°F.
2
Clean mushrooms to remove excess dirt. Then, remove the stems. Toss lightly in olive oil and add salt and pepper to taste.
3
Insert a peeled, slightly crushed garlic clove in each mushroom cap.
4
Place sliced jalapeno rings in each mushroom cap along with any other ingredients you'd like such as sausage and cheese.
5
Wrap each mushroom with a strip of bacon. Wrap the mushroom once, gathering ends at the stem, twisting and draping down the side of the mushrooms.
6
Place each bacon-wrapped stuffed mushroom with filling side up on well-vented grilling rack or tray.
7
Close grill hood and roast for 25 to 30 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
8
Add a splash of hot sauce to each mushroom.
9
Remove and let cool briefly before serving.
