Serves 2-4
pound asparagus, ends removed
tablespoons olive oil
lemon, juiced
salt and pepper to taste

Ingredient Tips

Asparagus with thicker stalks work best for grilling directly on the grate to prevent them from falling through the grill grates.

Prep: 5 Minutes, Cook: 6 Minutes

Preheat grill to 350°F.

Place asparagus in a large mixing bowl with olive oil and lemon juice. Toss until all sides of the asparagus are coated.

Remove asparagus from the bowl and arrange in an even layer on a cookie sheet or flat pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Place asparagus directly on your grill grate (perpendicular to grates), on a grill topper or in a grill basket. Grill until fork tender, about 5 to 6 minutes. Using tongs, rotate each spear a quarter turn, one time per minute. If you’re using a grill basket, flip the basket every other minute.

Hot Tip: Allow the asparagus to brown but not char.

Remove from grill and serve immediately.

I think the author meant to say grill it perpendicular to your grill lines?

Use one of the copper sheets to grill the asparagus along with some pine nuts. Finish it with some crumbled blue cheese just before serving. Wonderful!
