Easy Grilled Scallops


Scallops are one of the simplest things to grill and so delicious when done right. It just takes a hot gas grill, some salt and pepper and quality scallops. Follow this recipe for easy grilled scallops using your gas grill.

Serves 3
For the Scallops
Sea scallops
Sea Salt
Black pepper


Prep: 20 Minutes, Cook: 6 Minutes

Allow the scallops to rest at room temperature for 20 minutes. While waiting, preheat the gas grill to 450°F.


Place the scallops on the grill for 90 seconds. Then turn 90 degrees for good cross-hatch marks. Grill another 90 seconds.


Flip and repeat on the other side.

Hot Tip: Scallops can overcook easily becoming tough and dry. Try to remove them from the grill just as they turn from translucent to a firmer white.

Remove the scallops from the grill. Season with pepper and sea salt and serve.

    Mixed up a red wine vinaigrette sauce with a little butter and herbs. Adds a bit of flavor without overpowering the scallops.

    How do you keep the scallops from sticking to the grill ?

      Well, oiled grates will help to prevent sticking. You can also apply a little cooking oil to the scallops prior to placing them on the grill.
