Homemade Smoked Tilapia
The best thing about fresh tilapia is its mild flavor that doesn’t need the help of much added seasoning. A little salt, a dash of pepper, and a sprinkling of paprika are all you need to make tilapia fillets come to life.
tablespoons melted butter
Brush melted butter over tilapia fillets. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Preheat smoker to 200 degrees F and add wood chips. Smoke fish for about an hour or until the internal temperature reaches about 160 degrees F.
Hot Tip: Tilapia has very little natural fat, so be sure to use a mild-flavored ingredient like olive oil or butter to help the fish stay moist while smoking. Once finished cooking, Tilapia should have a nice flaky texture and be a bright white color.
