Ingredient Tips

DRY BBQ RUB
The recipe for this versatile bbq rub makes more than you will need to season your wings. Store the remainder in an empty spice jar to use as a go-to rub for other recipes.

Directions

Prep: 15 Minutes, Cook: 30 Minutes
1

Preheat the grill to 375-400°F.

2

In a medium-size pot, combine ketchup, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, chili powder and onion flakes. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes to blend the flavors. Set aside.

3

In a medium-size bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic, onion, chipotle powder, cumin, coriander and thyme.

4

Season wings on all sides with the dry rub.

5

Place the wings, top side down, on hot grill grates. Flipping every 5 minutes, cook until the internal temperature reaches 180°F on an instant-read thermometer, about 20-25 minutes.

6

Using a basting brush, brush all sides of the wings with honey BBQ sauce. Cook for about 1 minute per side until the sauce is “set” on the wings.

Hot Tip: To maintain consistent temperature, keep the lid closed when not actively tending to the food.
7

Remove and serve with celery, carrot sticks and honey BBQ sauce for dipping.
