If you’re looking for a new twist on burgers and a great alternative to beef, try these tender and delicious Lamb Burgers. They’re lightly seasoned with shallots and garlic powder. And when the smoked Gouda cheese melts over the succulent meat, it gives the lamb a lightly sweet flavor profile.
Preheat your grill to 450°F.
In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, shallots and garlic powder.
Divide the ground lamb mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. Then season each patty with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the lamb burgers on hot grill grates and close the lid. Cook the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F, about 5 to 8 minutes per side.
Once the burgers are fully cooked, top each patty with a slice of smoked Gouda cheese. Close the lid for another 15 to 30 seconds to melt the cheese.
Remove from the grill. Place the burger buns, interior side down, for 15 seconds to toast them.
Assemble the burgers on grilled brioche burger buns with arugula, a grilled lamb patty, basil pesto and sliced tomatoes.
