Pineapple Chile Chicken Wings
These chicken wings strike the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. The tropical flavor of pineapple, savory teriyaki sauce and dash of heat from dried pepper flakes create a flavor trifecta sure to please at your next cookout.
Place uncovered wings on a cooling rack over a sheet pan and in the refrigerator for one hour. This will dry out the surface of the wings, making them easier to brown and will yield a crispier texture.
Place all the sauce ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to a near-boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the sauce begins to thicken.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400-450°f).
Season the wings entirely and toss to coat.
Place the wings on the grill, close the lid and cook for 15 minutes.
Flip the wings, close the lid and cook another 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 180°f.
Reduce heat to medium-low (300°f), sauce the wings and cook 5-10 minutes or until the sauce sets on them.
