In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper and garlic. Form into 6 patties.
Santa Fe Burger
Pre-heat one side of grill on medium-high heat and the other on low heat.
Place burgers on grates pre-heated to medium-high and poblano chiles on grates pre-heated to low.
Cook burgers for 5 minutes. Flip, top with Monterey Jack cheese and cook for another 5-7 minutes for medium-rare patties; the longer you grill them, the more done they'll be.
Occasionally turn poblano chiles while grilling burgers to avoid burning them. Remove or place on top rack when charred to your liking.
Assemble burger with poblano chile, lettuce, tomato, avocado and your favorite condiments.
