Try any variety of flavors and create a rub recipe of your own. Experiment with different spices like sage, ginger, or healthy turmeric to find your favorite combination.

Store-bought seasoning mixes are great additions to any rub recipe or when used on their own. Don’y shy away from a mix because it says it’s intent for a specific type of protein- turkey’s mild taste will complement almost any flavor.

Mix smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl.

Hot Tip: Chili powder can be hot. Wear gloves to protect your skin from being irritated by the spice.

Drizzle a light coat of oil onto the turkey. Massage spice onto turkey and under skin.

I've made this dry brine twice but for chicken. The first time was far to much cumin for my taste so I dialed that back to a 1/4 tsp and that was much better. Everyone that has tasted this adjusted recipe has raved about it.
