The Big Easy® Roast Beef is seasoned simply with just salt and pepper for a nostalgic walk down Memory Lane to home-cooked family meals. While it’s great to cook a turkey in The Big Easy, making a juicy, medium-rare roast beef is easy too. And since a roast is much smaller than a turkey and cooks to a lower internal temp, it cooks much faster than a turkey.

Not just for turkeys, The Big Easy® Oil-Less Turkey Fryer makes cooking roast beef easy too. Just season with oil, butter or your favorite BBQ rub and The Big Easy does the rest. Powered by TRU-Infrared™ technology, The Big Easy requires no oil to operate.

Ingredients

FOR THE ROAST

  • 1 (5-7 pound) beef roast
  • salt and pepper to taste

Ingredient Tips

NO SUGAR
Your rub and/or marinade should contain NO sugar. Sugar will cause your food to burn.

Directions

Step 1 Of 6
1
Power up The Big Easy® Oil-less Fryer.
Hot Tip
The Big Easy was designed to be powered ON (all the way to the left) and OFF (all the way to the right). All recipes for The Big Easy are based on operating the fryer at full power.
2
Salt and pepper the roast liberally.
3
Place beef roast in the roaster basket. Lower the basket into the cooking chamber. Insert a meat thermometer into the center of the meatiest part of the roast so that the dial is easy to read when the basket is in the cooker.
Hot Tip
To minimize sticking, coat the wire frame of the cooking basket with oil before inserting beef roast.
4
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 140°F, about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Cook time varies based on weather conditions and the size of your roast.
Hot Tip
Cover the fryer with the wire mesh lid during the first or last 15 minutes of the cook for crispy skin, using infrared heat reflected back into cooking chamber. If used throughout cook, this heat can burn food before it is fully cooked.
5
Lift the roaster basket out of the chamber and set it on a shallow sheet pan. When the basket is cool to the touch, remove the roast, leaving the thermometer in place. Set the roast on a platter and tent with aluminum foil for 10 to 15 minutes while the internal temperature rises to 145°F.
Hot Tip
Giving your roast the time it needs to rest, allows juices to redistribute, retaining moisture for tender meat. The internal temperature will continue to rise before it evens out
6
Slice and serve with Garlic and Rosemary-Butter Grilled Brie and some Easy Grilled Asparagus.
