Easy Grilled Asparagus
For the Asparagus
- 1 pound asparagus, ends removed
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- salt and pepper to taste
Asparagus with thicker stalks work best for grilling directly on the grate to prevent them from falling through the grill grates.
Preheat grill to 350°F.
Place asparagus in a large mixing bowl with olive oil and lemon juice. Toss until all sides of the asparagus are coated.
Remove asparagus from the bowl and arrange in an even layer on a cookie sheet or flat pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place asparagus directly on your grill grate (perpendicular to grates), on a grill topper or in a grill basket . Grill until fork tender, about 5 to 6 minutes. Using tongs , rotate each spear a quarter turn, one time per minute. If you’re using a grill basket, flip the basket every other minute.
Hot TipAllow the asparagus to brown but not char.
Remove from grill and serve immediately.
