This Easy Grilled Asparagus recipe makes eating healthy and delicious food a no-brainer. It’s quick and easy, cooking within minutes alongside your entree on the grill. Although asparagus can be fried, boiled, baked, sautéed, roasted or steamed, we think the best way to cook the most flavorful asparagus is on the grill. With just a few simple ingredients, charred edges and smoky flavor, this asparagus will leave you more than happy to eat your veggies.


For the Asparagus

  • 1 pound asparagus, ends removed
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Ingredient Tips

Asparagus with thicker stalks work best for grilling directly on the grate to prevent them from falling through the grill grates.

Preheat grill to 350°F.
Place asparagus in a large mixing bowl with olive oil and lemon juice. Toss until all sides of the asparagus are coated.
Remove asparagus from the bowl and arrange in an even layer on a cookie sheet or flat pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place asparagus directly on your grill grate (perpendicular to grates), on a grill topper or in a grill basket . Grill until fork tender, about 5 to 6 minutes. Using tongs , rotate each spear a quarter turn, one time per minute. If you’re using a grill basket, flip the basket every other minute.
Hot Tip
Allow the asparagus to brown but not char.
Remove from grill and serve immediately.
