The Big Easy® Asian BBQ Chicken Wings
For the Chicken Wings
- 5-6 pounds chicken wings (25 to 30 wings)
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup chopped scallions
For the Asian BBQ Marinade
- 1/3 cup sweet chili marinade
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
Chinese Five Spice
Available in most grocery stores, Chinese Five Spice is a spice mixture of five or more spices used predominantly in Chinese cuisines. While there are many variants, a common mix contains star anise, cloves, Chinese cinnamon, Sichuan pepper and fennel seeds.
Your rub, marinade and/or brine should contain NO sugar. Sugar will cause your food to burn.
In a medium-size bowl, combine sweet chili marinade, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, pepper, ginger, garlic and Chinese Five Spice.
Submerge wings in marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours.
Turn on The Big Easy Oil-less Fryer.
Place the wings on the bottom of the roaster basket. Load the basket into the cooking chamber. Cook until the meat’s internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 30 minutes.
Hot TipCover the fryer with the wire mesh lid during the last 15 minutes of the cook for crispy skin, using infrared heat reflected back into cooking chamber. If used throughout cook, this heat can burn food before it is fully cooked.
Remove wings and top with scallions and sesame seeds.
Serve as an appetizer or entrée with a side of Bacon and Cheese Potatoes .
