Cheese-Stuffed Honey BBQ Sliders
For the Sliders
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/4 cup steak sauce
- 2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning
- 16 cubes of cheddar cheese
- 16 slices of pepper jack cheese
- 16 slices of bacon
- 16 slider buns
For the Honey BBQ Sauce
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 1/2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning
Preheat one side of your grill to 400°F and leave the other side off for two-zone cooking.
Combine the ground beef, steak sauce and BBQ seasoning in a large bowl. Then, form 16 patties and press a cube of cheddar cheese into the center of each patty. Wrap ground beef around the cheese cube and reform patty.
Place the bacon slices on the cooler side of the grill for indirect heat. Close the lid and cook at 250°F for 20 minutes or until the bacon is almost done.
While the bacon cooks, combine honey, ketchup, vinegar, molasses and BBQ seasoning in a saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes on the side burner.
Place cheese-stuffed meat patties on the hotter side of the grill and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side over direct heat. Brush each patty with honey BBQ sauce and top with a slice of pepper jack cheese. Leave on grill for about 30 seconds to melt the cheese before removing.
Assemble your sliders with a tablespoon of honey BBQ sauce, lettuce, slider patty and a slice of bacon. Enjoy.
