Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs with Pineapple Slaw
Anchored with the classic taste of a beef frank wrapped in crispy bacon, sandwiched in a toasted Hawaiian bun is enough to make mouths water. But, infuse it with smoky flavor and top it off with sweet, fresh pineapple slaw and you have a luau for your taste buds.
Ingredients
FOR THE HOT DOGS
- 8 all-beef hot dogs
- 8 strips bacon
- 8 Hawaiian-style hot dog buns
FOR THE PINEAPPLE SLAW
- 1 1/2 cups diced pineapple
- 1/2 cup shredded green cabbage
- 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
- 1/4 cup shredded red cabbage
- 1 whole lime

While charcoal is starting, wrap hot dogs in bacon. Place on a plate and store in the fridge until ready to grill.

For the pineapple slaw: in a mixing bowl, add pineapple, shredded green cabbage, shredded red cabbage, chopped cilantro, chopped jalapeno. Squeeze in lime juice, and stir. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Place bacon wrapped hotdogs over direct heat, turning about 2-3 minutes until bacon is fully cooked.

To serve, place bacon wrapped hot dog in bun, then top with a heaping spoonful of pineapple slaw.
