How to Light a Gas Grill Manually

Char-Broil® gas grills have an igniter button for quick, easy start-ups. If yours fails to spark, you can still light the grill manually. As a back up, and for safety, Char-Broil® grills have a built-in match holder that hangs on a chain under your grill.

Directions

Step 1 Of 4
1
Open the lid of your grill and find the lighting hole on the side of the grill.
2
Once you see that, place a match in the curled end of the holder. Then light the match.
3
Turn on the gas burner closest to the hole. Insert the match into the hole to light the burner.
4
After the first burner is lit, turn on adjacent burners to cross-light them.
