Grilled Chocolatey Fruit Tarts
Play
These indulgent grilled fruit tarts are simple to cook but make a big impact! Skip fussy pastry crusts and add some cinnamon spice to the dish by using cinnamon buns cooked right on the griddle as the tart bases. Top with juicy grilled apples, strawberries and blueberries and a drizzle of velvety melted chocolate for a truly luxurious dessert.
This recipe was created by our partner Dave from Dave’s Fire Foods who made the dish on our 3-Burner Gas Griddle Cart, but you can make it on your griddle.
Ingredients
For the Recipe
- 1 Chocolate Bar
- 1 Tbsp + more for the griddle Coconut Oil
- 1 Apple
- 1 cup Strawberries
- 1 cup Blueberries
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1 can Cinnamon Buns
Directions
1.
Chop up the chocolate bar and add to a small heat-safe dish or pan with the coconut oil.
2.
Slice up the apples and strawberries into thin slices.
3.
Set your griddle to low heat and add some coconut oil.
4.
When the griddle is ready, add all the fruit and drizzle it with honey. Let this cook and caramelize for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5.
Set the pan of chocolate off to the side of the griddle to heat and melt. Stir every few minutes.
6.
Add the cinnamon rolls to the griddle and press each roll down with a spatula to get them thin and crisp. Cook for 5-7 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes. Take everything off the griddle.
7.
Assemble the tarts, topping each cinnamon bun with a scoop of grilled fruit and a generous drizzle of melted chocolate. Serve.
